Feline Welfare runs on a simple idea, that every penny goes towards the cats and kittens in our care. With this idea in mind, we have some strict financial rules:

  1. No salaries are either drawn or paid from donations.
  2. Everyone who works on behalf of Feline Welfare is a volunteer, (for which we are extremely grateful!).
  3. Administration costs are kept to an absolute minimum, absolutely no frills!
  4. We don’t pay professional fundraisers.
  5. At least 97% of donations are spent on our priorities, the cats and kittens in our care.

Our main expenditure is on veterinary fees, food, cat litter, medications, and microchips. As these are ongoing we need to constantly boost our funds so we are able to make ends meet. Not always an easy task! The administration costs are made up of a combination of Insurance, essential equipment, fundraising (hall hire for our Fayres, etc), advertising and publicity, (including this website!)

Our other main priority is the special neutering/spaying scheme we run. We help low-income families to have their cats or kittens neutered/spayed and microchipped if they so wish. All this is done at very affordable prices. This scheme has a knock-on effect of controlling numbers on the Isle of Wight and that in turn helps reduce the cruelty figures in our area, which has to be beneficial to all concerned.

We receive no government funding. We rely entirely on donations and proceeds from our other fundraising initiatives to enable us to carry out our work; rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming our feline friends as well as our all-important neutering program.

Other ways to help us

Raffles

Since Covid 19 hit the UK, we have been unable to hold our biannual Fayres. So instead, we are offering at least two raffles a year so are always looking for quality prizes for these. In the run-up to a raffle, announcements will be made both on the site and on our Feline Welfare Facebook page. Tickets can be purchased from a page that will appear on this site for the duration of the raffle. All winners will be notified on the day of the draw and prizes can either be collected or delivered (subject to our busy timetable.)

Fundraising

We are always on the lookout for bric-a-brac, books, unwanted gifts, etc, for our many fundraising stalls (some items can be collected.)

Please see the Contact page if you wish to donate any items.

Volunteering

We are a dedicated Rescue Centre made up entirely of volunteers. We’re always grateful to anyone who could help us with fundraising, cat fostering or other ways you can assist. If you would like to volunteer to help Feline Welfare, please call Nikki on: 01983 521 778.

Thank You!
