Homes urgently needed for:
Happy Tails

Sparkle

‘Sparkle’ is NOW IN HER SUPER NEW HOME and has taken over as expected!! She has a new feline sister and they are settling well together.

She is just under a year old. She has tested negative for feline leukeamia and FIV and has been spayed, microchipped and has had her full vaccination course.

This gorgeous little girl has had specialised surgery to remove her ear canal and bulla, due to having a benign polyp in that area. She now only has hearing in her left ear. For this reason she is probably best to go to an indoor home with perhaps a catio so she can get outside in the nice weather, but staying safe at all times. ‘Sparkle’ is a very lively, playfull and inquisitive little girl so she will need to go to a house as a flat just won’t be enough for her on the longterm. She was with dogs in her previous home, and did have access outside, but that was before her surgery.

When she came into our care she had a very long standing ear infection which wasnt responding to topical treatment, antibiotics and anti inflammatories. We were advised that she needed a CT scan before we could move forward with her treatment. It was already known that the ear canal was full of pus which must have caused her a great deal of pain and discomfort.

Following the surgery to remove the very infected and damaged ear canal ‘Sparkle’ had the original outer opening closed and sutured. This delightful little girl has obviously lost any hearing in her right ear which makes her far more vulnerable when it comes to having access outside. Due to the surgery her ear flap is refusing to stay up, this may or may not change, but it is purely cosmetic. Because she has Maine Coon in her the ears are very high anyway, had she had smaller ear flaps this may not have happened.
