Paws at Peace

‘Dougal’

It is with great sadness that ‘Dougal’ left us today after a very short illness.

‘Dougal’ was one of our many feral rescues over the years.

Nearly 12 years ago we were alerted to a Colony building up and visiting someone’s garden, ‘Dougal’ was just one of these.

Although we did try to rehome this lovely boy – in fact we did briefly – but I was called back as he obviously wasn’t happy and although the lovely lady persevered he wouldn’t come out of hiding. When I went back and he heard my voice he responded very loudly, and within moments he was in my carrier and we were on the way HOME 💕 Needless to say he stayed with me permanently and has lived a blessed life ❤️

‘Dougal’ has been my constant shadow, during the day and laying next to me at night ××

Although he has had bowel problems for a few years now with the help from our Vet we were trying to manage that in the best way possible.

He became unwell and went downhill very quickly. We took him to Pete at The People’s Vet for bloods, these all not showing an encouraging picture. Today ‘Dougal’ had Xrays taken under sedation and a tumour was found on his liver and possibly a secondary tumour in the vicinity of his bladder.

This has been such a shock as I thought we would be together for many years to come.

Rest Peacefully Little Man – you will stay in my heart forever 💕

Our ‘Dougal’ is the tabby boy and always with the rest of our feline family ××💕××
